Studio Masterclass Theo Moorman Technique

This masterclass will be held in my studio. 

Theo Moorman MBE was a weaver with an art based approach to weaving. Her technique allowed for a free flowing inlay technique woven into a ground cloth. With this technique you can create up an image using a wide variety of qualities of yarn from thin to thick, plain to textured. Blocks and shapes of colour can built up.

The masterclass will consist of demonstrations of techniques, and then you will each work on a loom already set up. You can try out the techniques to produce a sampler of your own choosing from a wide range of yarns provided. There will be a maximum of 3 participants.

Inspirational materials will be available to work from if you want to, or you are welcome to bring your own image to work from. Discussion of how to interpret an image within this technique will also be included.

All materials are included in the fee, and tea and coffee and scones will also be provided.
